Florida "The Sunshine State", is now the third most populous state in the nation moving ahead of New York, according to U.S. Census Bureau. As of July 1, 2014 there were an estimated 19,893,297 Floridians, compared to 19,746,227 people who called the State of New York home. California remains atop the list with 38.8 million residents, followed by 26.96 million Texans.
